About Us
Howe Modern & Contemporary Fine Art is operated by Ronald Sr., Ronald Jr. and Jamie Howe.
In the Fall of 1968, Dolores, my late wife, and I went to Spain and Italy for our honeymoon. While in Spain we visited Dolores's second cousin, the Spanish artist Guillermo Bergnes, who was painting in Tortosa, Spain. We purchased an oil painting and soon after started to obtain oils, drawings including gouaches, black & white and colored pencil drawings by mail.
This got us started on collecting fine art.
In 1970 we purchased prints by Francisco Goya and Albrecht Durer. We later purchased French art posters by Alphonse Mucha, Jules Cheret, and A. T. Steinlen, then prints by European and American artists, followed by drawings and oils by artists other than Guillermo Bergnes.
Many art dealers helped me learn about fine art: Pat Albano & Irene Falconer of the Aaron Galleries; Rob Adams of the Robert Henry Adams Fine Art, Sylvan Cole of the Sylvan Cole Gallery, Joseph Glimer & Jeffrey Gusfield of the Gusfield-Glimer Gallery, Norman Kraeft of June 1 Gallery, and Susan Teller of the Susan Teller Galleries. I thank them all.
Since the Internet became available, I have delved into Askart, Artnet, Art Price, and other sites listed on Google to learn more about art and artists.
Now, selected parts of my large art collection are for sale at reasonable prices.
Ron Howe, Sr.
